Connecting Apple Health
Why Connect Apple Health?
Apple Health acts as a central hub for all your health data on iPhone. By connecting xHeal to Apple Health, you automatically sync steps, heart rate, HRV, sleep data, active energy, workouts, blood pressure, blood glucose, and data from connected devices like Apple Watch, Oura, and Whoop.
Setting Up the Connection
During Onboarding
- When you reach the Apple Health step, tap Connect Apple Health
- iOS will show the Health access screen
- Tap Turn On All to grant xHeal access to all health categories
- Tap Allow to confirm
After Onboarding
Go to Settings, tap Data Sources, tap Apple Health, then tap Manage Permissions to adjust toggles for each data type.
Recommended Permissions
For the best experience, enable: Steps, Distance, Active Energy, Exercise Minutes, Stand Hours, Flights Climbed, Weight, Height, BMI, Body Fat, Heart Rate, Resting Heart Rate, HRV, Walking Heart Rate, Sleep Analysis, Blood Pressure, Blood Glucose, Body Temperature, Respiratory Rate, and Oxygen Saturation.
How Sync Works
Once connected, xHeal automatically syncs your data with real-time sync (new data appears within minutes), background sync (even when the app is closed), and historical import of your existing health history.
Troubleshooting
If data is not syncing, open iOS Settings, tap Health, tap Data Access and Devices, tap xHeal, and ensure the data types you want are toggled on.
Privacy Note: xHeal only reads the data you explicitly allow. We never write to Apple Health without your permission, and your data is encrypted both in transit and at rest.
